Energy Efficiency requirements for new homes and alterations & additions to existing homes

Energy ratings need to achieve a 6 star minimum as of 1 May 2011 in Victoria. Mountain Creek Architecture is Nationally accredited with ABSA (Association of Building Sustainability Assessors) to conduct ratings in First Rate 5.

Home alterations and additions are required to meet minimum energy efficiency standards, as set out in the Building Code of Australia, Volume 2, Part 3.12. This includes complying with minimum standards for orientation, insulation, window heat transfer, thermal mass, light and ventilation. Mountain Creek Architecture conducts these assessments as part of the design process.
